One-on-One with Mark Deady

[This article was archived on 8/3/2012.]

Mark Deady, Mutual of America's Senior Field Vice President, Indianapolis Regional Office, shares his thoughts on the Company's unique approach to employee education for helping individuals prepare for a financially secure future. Mark has been with Mutual of America for over 20 years.

As one of our Participant Account Representatives often says, "The retirement plan world, and particularly saving and investing, is a foreign language to most people." For many individuals this can be overwhelming to the point where they avoid taking any action related to their retirement savings.

We take a different approach. We believe people can figure things out and make well-considered decisions, given enough information and with proper focus. So we help educate them through group presentations and, as needed, sit down with them in person to review their retirement savings. We show them the tools and give them the information they need to help them make informed decisions. Of course, they can also call us at any time with any questions and go online whenever they want to review their account.

Saving for retirement can be tough, but we're here to help so they can make the most of their retirement saving plan and prepare for a financially secure retirement.
